The Design Process

Initial Meeting

 

Design Consultation

Our designers meet with the client to gather information regarding the project at hand.  During this two-hour session, the designer and client exchange conceptual ideas, and the designer begins to understand the basic needs of functionality and design aesthetics that the client is looking for.  Sometimes the client provides pictures from books, magazine clippings, internet findings or photos of inspiration.  We ask a series of questions so we can learn about the client and the client's home or business. During this time we will also take measurements of the space if a space plan is needed or desired.

 

Space Planning, Product Selection & Color Coordination

After having a solid understanding of the needs of the client, our team of designers collaborate to create different space plan options.  We then begin to select the appropriate furniture for the room based on scale and proportion, characteristics and design, and budget.  Finally, we address paint color, upholstery fabrics, accessories and window treatments as necessary.  Perspective renderings are also available and completed during this process if preferred by the client.

 

Presentation

We present the design layout, concepts, colors, furniture, accessories and optional perspective renderings to our client.  Functional space plan option(s) are presented, options for furniture, accessories and color are provided with each plan.  The client is provided with a follow-up e-mail of the space plan(s), concepts, and fabrics to take home on request.

 

Final Selection

After the client has reviewed all the provided materials, another meeting is held where the client and designer review the selected options and either make changes or begin to order the furniture, accessories and other necessary items.

 

Production Process

While many of the pieces that the client orders may be custom, the production process can be timely.  When multiple pieces are ordered, the products ordered will sit in the showroom or warehouse while remaining products arrive, unless otherwise specified.  

 

Install & Reveal

Our design team and necessary professionals complete the install of all pieces ordered at the client's home or business.  The install includes delivery and assembly of large furniture pieces, window treatments hung, lighting installation and accessory placement.
